All retreats are in India, arranged by our team in Delhi. Choose a classic wellness destination, or recover close to the hospital city where you were treated.

Frequently asked
Can I combine medical treatment in India with a recovery retreat?
Yes, and many of our patients do. After treatment at an accredited hospital, our Delhi team can arrange an Ayurveda, physiotherapy, or quiet recovery stay in Kerala or Rishikesh, timed and approved by your treating doctor. See our medical tourism page for how treatment coordination works.
What is Panchakarma and how long does it take?
Panchakarma is a classical Ayurvedic detoxification and rejuvenation programme involving five therapeutic procedures to eliminate toxins and restore balance. An authentic Panchakarma requires a minimum of 14 to 21 days under a qualified BAMS doctor. Shorter programmes are wellness breaks, not clinical detox. Kerala is the premier destination, with monsoon season (June to August) considered the optimal treatment window.
What are the best Ayurveda retreats in Kerala?
Well-regarded options in Kerala include Somatheeram Ayurvedic Resort in Kovalam, Arya Vaidya Sala Kottakkal (founded in 1902), Nila Ayurveda in Wayanad, and Sreerudra Ayurveda Hospital, which specialises in spinal and joint conditions. The right centre depends on your health goals, how long you can stay, your budget, and, after surgery, what your treating doctor approves.
Can New Zealanders go to India for an Ayurveda retreat?
Yes. New Zealand passport holders need an Indian visa that matches the purpose of the trip, such as an e-Tourist Visa for a wellness holiday or an AYUSH visa for Ayurvedic treatment, applied for through official Government of India channels. Kerala is the main destination for Ayurveda and Panchakarma, and Rishikesh for yoga. Our Delhi team arranges bookings and transfers in India, and we confirm current visa requirements before you apply.
What is the difference between a wellness retreat and a spa holiday?
A spa holiday is primarily relaxation-focused with treatments as add-ons to a holiday. A wellness retreat is structured around health transformation: a medical or clinical foundation (Ayurveda, naturopathy), daily discipline (diet, yoga, rest), and a specific health goal (detox, weight management, stress recovery, chronic disease management). The outcomes are measurably different, and the commitment required is also different.
